About Our Company
Romantic Room Designs is a business that truly started to fill a need. While operating a local hotel reservations service here in Monterey County, California, we were often asked about who to call to decorate a hotel room for an anniversary, birthday, proposal or just a romantic getaway. In the 10 years that we operated this service, we assisted over 60,000 people - and quite a few wanted something a little better than just a standard hotel room.
We began to decorate hotel rooms for people that basically insisted that someone perform this service for them. We fell in love with the concept and decided in 2004 to begin working on a more formal structure for our business. In January, 2006, we began to reconstruct our web site and add new products, packages and our Romance Inside A Box.
The actual concept for the business began quite a while ago. While Brian Borgia, owner of this business along with his wife Heidi, was in college he constructed a "fake beach" on the balcony of his apartment to impress a girl (complete with sand, barbecue, leaves, blanket and ocean scene). It turned out to be so popular that all of his room mates used the same "balcony beach" for their girlfriends as well.
As members of the Monterey County Hospitality Association, Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the International Association of Travel Agents, we are committed to a high quality of design and customer service. We appreciate any comments that you may have and any suggestions on how to improve on our product.
Brian Borgia has lived in Monterey County for the past 14 years and has spent nearly 20 years in the hospitality field working with hotels. He is the author of a travel book on romance and has stayed in and/or toured over 200 hotels across the world. Heidi Borgia has lived in Monterey County for the past 13 years and has operated a successful gift basket company.
