When you drive up through the main driveway of Bacara, you don't know that once you step in to the lobby, you are going to be transported in to a resort that takes you outside of California and places you into some lush, tropical beach front getaway. Spread over 70 acres of lush land, you will feel like you are in your own private hideaway. Even though the hotel was sold out the night we visited, it seemed very peaceful and quiet as we passed stucco walls with climbing Bougenvillia, tranquil fountains and fragrant plants and bushes. Guest rooms, with arched doorways, Spanish tile floors and beautiful accent rugs, are consistently decorated with a simple blue and white color scheme that is super soothing and at the same time made you feel like it was time to put on one of the luxurious bath robes and sit out on the private deck (or patio). The overall feeling we received is that this is THE PLACE to re-energize the romance in your relationship.
